L'evento
A double solo show by Gaia Bellini (1996) and Ludovico Colombo (1998),
as part of #ccsacontemporaneo project of the Department of Culture of
Municipality of Crema, in its third edition in 2020, created to give space to research
art and bring the public closer to emerging artists.
Both artists work in different but consonant ways on related aspects
to sacredness, to places / non-places, to the connection between external reality and landscape
inner. The work of Gaia Bellini, with large and medium-sized paintings, yes
focuses on the beauty of impermanence, vibrating the supports with the use of
natural color and botanical print. Ludovico Colombo's project combines drawings a
graphite on paper to sculptural works that investigate the limit between immense and minuscule, the
relationship with the landscape and the interior. The observation for the natural element too
for Colombo it is as central as for Bellini, the artists bring this to different results
reflection that in a double personal dialogue can enhance the characteristics and
peculiarities of the research of both.
The title of the exhibition is taken from Salvatore's poem Metamorphosis of the sacred urn
Quasimodo, chosen to lead back to the thought underlying the exhibition intent:
to bring the relationship between man and nature, at the basis of commitment, back to a more direct relationship
of both artists.
