Crema is like a young lady: elegant and quiet, at first glance, but also extremely energetic and joyful. It’s a leading locomotive in the heart of the Pianura Padana, ever endeavoring to achive higher goals and improve.
In this “City of Harmony” organs and bells are crafted at the famed Fonderia Allanconi. Here authentic local foods such as Salva Cremasco, Tortelli Cremaschi, Spongarda and Bertolina cakes can be savored. Crema possesses a silent and sheltered sort of beauty that is carefully embraced by its denizens who express in words, stares and gestures, their pride, ambition and joie de vivre.
Only recently has Crema revealed itself and its coveted way of life to visitors. Its charming noble palaces facing narrow streets and squares as well as its churches convey stories from various ages with astonishing architecture and art.
Crema has rich vegetation and is located in the Parco Nazionale del Serio. It features an extensive network of bicycle paths that link the outskirts to the city center.
Some of the routes extend to adjacent towns, such as the Ciclabile (bike path) del Canale Vacchelli - an artificial waterway that cuts through Crema from west to east. It is a 36-km ecological route that joins Parco Adda Sud and Parco Oglio Nord with the municipal Parco Moso and Parco Tormo.

Go on a journey to the past of Crema. The crypt has a rich archeological section dedicated to the ruins of the ancient Duomo, destroyed by Frederick I Barbarossa between 1159 and 1160. Not to be forgotten is also the presence of one the most relevant art pieces of our territory: The beautiful "Compianto Ligneo del Marzale", created in the XV century.

Itinerary among the venetian arts in the Crema area
The 16th of september of 1449, Sant Euphemia Day, Crema was given to the Republic of Venice.
From that moment onwards, apart from a brief parenthesis between 1509 and 1512, The Cremasco was a part of the Serenissima until its fall in 1797.

Suggestions and influences in Crema and the Crema area
On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death, celebrated in 2019, the city of Crema offered interested visitors a tour specifically on the subject.
Leonardo da Vinci never visited Crema, however several of his students worked in our area, leaving unmistakable signs of Leonardo's influence.
The tour takes place not only in the city center but also in the surrounding Crema area.
Tourists can use an app in Italian or English with an interactive map and historical and artistic information for each monument included in the tour. A brochure is also available for download for further information.

The Serio Regional Park, with its 54 kilometers of river development, offers cycling and nature lovers a natural series of itineraries.
Taking advantage of country roads, old tracks, or well-used paths, you can follow the five different itineraries that will allow you to complete the river circuit. Along the way, you'll encounter the historical and religious sites scattered throughout the area: the castles of the northern stretch, the historic centers of Martinengo, Romano, and Crema, the villas of the southern stretch, and the countless Sacred Signs scattered throughout.
