L'evento

The Association of alumni of the Liceo Ginnasio “A. Racchetti ”- Crema is pleased to invite you to the conference" A quiet revolutionary: Alessandro Manzoni ". The speaker will be Pierantonio Frare, full professor of Italian literature at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan and Piacenza. Alessandro Manzoni, under the guise of a quiet and secluded life, was actually a man and a writer capable of rebellions and revolutions: from his youthful excesses, in college and outside, to the writing of works capable of profoundly innovating and revolutionizing the Italian language and literature, through courageous and always contrary choices, to his profound adherence to the Risorgimento movement, which also cost him not a few troubles with the censorship and with the Austrian government. The lesson will follow this thread, to show a new Manzoni, very far from the flattened and boring image that is usually given, paying particular attention to the Promessi Sposi.
